Job Overview:

We are looking for a talented detail-oriented Co-op Engineering Student to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed electrical drawings and technical reports primarily using AutoCAD software and word. This role is essential in supporting engineering and construction projects by translating concepts and designs into precise technical plans.

Key Responsibilities:

-     Use AutoCAD software to produce detailed 2D/3D drawings, layouts, and schematics based on design specifications and project requirements

-     Work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to understand design objectives and ensure that drawings reflect all technical and client requirements

-     Develop and maintain detailed drawings and documentation for various stages of the project lifecycle, including initial concept design, revisions, and final construction drawings

-     Update and modify existing drawings to incorporate changes as needed and ensure accuracy in design outputs

-     Manage multiple projects from design to construction completion

-     Maintain an organized database of AutoCAD files, ensuring that drawings are properly labeled, saved, and updated

-     Assist in developing internal documents and standards

-     Stay up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and technologies to maintain best practices in electrical design

Minimum Qualifications:

-     Experience: 4th year co-op or new graduate

-     Familiar with AutoCAD

-     Strong ability to manage multiple tasks with a focus on precision and quality

-     Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate with diverse teams and written reports

-     Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and think through design challenges and propose effective solutions

Preferred Qualifications or Experience:

-     Hand-on experience working with electrical equipment

-     Familiar with various electrical equipment and various ratings

-     Understanding of construction drawings including electrical, mechanical, architectural, civil, etc
