We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Support Assistant under the Canada Summer Jobs program to support our team with research, data analysis, and administrative coordination over the summer term. This is a fantastic opportunity for a student or recent graduate interested in research, social sciences, public policy, or data-related fields.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Collection: Assist with gathering, organizing, and verifying data from a variety of sources

  • Literature Reviews: Conduct basic research and compile summaries from academic papers, news sources, and public records

  • Document Management: Support the creation and editing of research reports, presentations, and briefing materials

  • Survey Support: Help develop, distribute, and analyze surveys or feedback forms as needed

  • Collaboration: Work with senior researchers and staff to support ongoing projects and initiatives

  • Administrative Support: Assist with file organization, scheduling research meetings, and maintaining digital records

To qualify, you must:

  • Be between 15 and 30 years old at the start of employment

  •  
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person granted refugee protection

  •  
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)

  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada

Qualifications

  •  
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a post-secondary program (social sciences, communications, public policy, or related fields preferred)

  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills

  •  
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office

  •  
  • Organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently

  •  
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information professionally

Assets (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with survey tools (e.g., Google Forms, SurveyMonkey)

  • Basic knowledge of data analysis software (Excel, SPSS, R, etc.)
