We value the more than 22,000 Members that we serve and we are dedicated to maintaining their trust.<br><br>Reporting to the Manager, Information Systems at WCEBP, the Senior Systems Administrator supports innovation and continuous improvement of WCEBP services and processes through well-designed data and technologies.<br><br>The Senior Systems Administrator Provides Deep And Broad Subject Matter Expertise To Enable Effective Service Delivery For Departments With a Quality Computing Environment. The Senior Systems Administrator Organizes, Controls, Leads And Coordinates The Design, Acquisition, Provision, Support And Evergreening Of Technological Services And Infrastructure Including<br><br><ul><li> Database systems; </li><li> Internal and external web systems; </li><li> Email systems; </li><li> Collaboration and file sharing systems; </li><li> Application serving/processing systems; </li><li> Server platforms; </li><li> Backup and Recovery Services; </li><li> Disaster Recovery Services; </li><li> Storage Services; </li><li> Identity and Access Management; </li><li> Networks (LAN and WAN); </li><li> Firewalls; </li><li> Remote Access services; </li><li> Various other Infrastructure Services. <br><br></li></ul>The Senior Systems Administrator supports the Manager, Information Systems in planning and tactical execution of IT infrastructure and services initiatives at WCEBP. This role also provides technical leadership to Programmer Analysts and contributes expertise in resolving complex incidents and requests. The Senior Systems Administrator actively collaborates with peers, supporting other WCEBP services and departments for collaborative service delivery to shared customers.<br><br><strong>As The Senior Systems Administrator You Will</strong> <br><br><ul><li> Manage the provision and support of technology and services; </li><li> Manage the service lifecycle including:</li><ul><li> Provide tactical operational leadership in all aspects of services including requirements gathering, design, acquisition, provision and support; </li><li> Identify opportunities for technical innovation and provide day-to-day service support; </li><li> Lead the introduction of new services and oversee consistent delivery of services; </li><li> Monitor performance and capacity of services to ensure alignment with business needs; </li><li> Manage contract administration and licenses ensure compliance including purchasing of licenses; </li><li> Create processes to ensure that infrastructure services are used consistently. </li></ul><li> Manage Infrastructure Solution Design including:</li><ul><li> Lead the team in maintaining a thorough knowledge of infrastructure and technologies and integrate that knowledge into the provision of new services to address current and future WCEBP needs; </li><li> Lead and facilitate rapid, scalable access to cloud services as a shared service for WCEBP; </li><li> Manage overseeing the consistent delivery of services in support of business needs; </li><li> Establish future architectural roadmap for infrastructure and services based on business needs and evolving industry trends; </li><li> Research, evaluate and recommend software and hardware; </li><li> Research technical requirements and recommend solutions. </li></ul></ul> <br><br><ul><li> Manage Cybersecurity standards including:</li><ul><li> Manage the team adhering to security practices and IT cybersecurity standards; </li><li> Lead knowledge and awareness as well as understanding and applying secure key industry principles and best practices; </li><li> Ensure secure communication protocols are used throughout the application. <br></li></ul></ul><strong>Your Education And Qualifications Include<br><br></strong><ul><li> A Bacherlor’s Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of training and experience; </li><li> Certification in IT Service Management or a relevant technical domain (eg: CCNA, Microsoft Azure Administrator, CCSP, etc); </li><li> Comprehensive knowledge of cloud and on-premise infrastructure service delivery environments; </li><li> Knowledge of the modern information technology industry, trends, and applications in relevant domain; </li><li> Exceptional written communication skills including the ability to write sensitive and confidential material for senior level staff; </li><li> Exceptional verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders; </li><li> Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain staff morale, foster, develop and maintain effective and positive working relationships with teams, partnerships and alliances; </li><li> Ability to create and promote a healthy and inclusive workplace culture; </li><li> Strong organizational skills with the ability to be flexible and responsive to changing priorities and circumstances as well as the ability to work on diverse projects simultaneously. </li><li>IMPORTANT : Applicants who have been educated outside of Canada must have education which is comparable to the minimum qualification in Canada.
