<strong>Description<br><br></strong>Temporary Labourer (Roads)<br><br>Job S tatus: Temporary Full-Time for approximately 8 months<br><br>Pay & Grade: $ 25.32 Hourly Grade/Band : NA<br><br>Hours of Work : 40 Hours per week<br><br>Initial location: Kitchener Operations Facility<br><br>Posting period: March 18 to December 19, 2025 ( at 6:00pm)<br><br><strong>Overview<br><br></strong>The City of Kitchener is seeking candidates to fill temporary labourer positions in the Roads and Traffic division.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li> Asphalt-related repairs and maintenance of roads. </li><li> Concrete related repairs and maintenance of sidewalks, curbs, catch basins, and manholes. </li><li> Maintaining waste receptacles, cleaning up garbage and debris from streets, sidewalks and alleys in the Downtown core, as well as on City & Regional roadways, city-owned property, bush & dense bush areas and parkland. </li><li> Winter work includes snow plowing and salting. </li><li> Performs other related duties as assigned. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Requirements<br><br></strong><ul><li> Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent. </li><li> Valid MTO DZ class driver's license in good standing and ability to provide Drivers Abstract at your own expense as a condition of employment. </li><li> Good communication skills with an ability to keep accurate written records. </li><li> Able to perform a wide variety of duties including manual labour and be prepared to be trained in the operation of all related equipment and work skills. </li><li> Must have good customer service skills. </li><li> Ability to participate as an effective team member. </li><li> Reliable with a good attitude and employment record. <br><br></li></ul>Department/ Division : Infrastructure Services , Operations - Roads and Traffic<br><br>Group: CUPE 68<br><br>Competition Number : 2025 - 105/2025-225<br><br>Job Code: 5500<br><br>Number of positions : 9<br><br>Why work at the City of Kitchener
